What Is The Emerging Church?

The emerging church is a phrase given to a religious organization or movement that change or adapts its doctrines to suit its congregation. This involves post modernist thinking that focuses on ecumenism, diversity of backgrounds, not offending anyone, making truth relevant, adjusting doctrines to match culture, compromising truth to be more liberal in both doctrine and theology.

Is The Emerging Church Idea Biblical?

NO, John 12:48 “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

The Bible clearly states the following:

  • God’s word is non-negotiable!
  • It is infallible!
  • He will never change it to suit the perverted and corrupt appetites of the ungodly in any age.
  • We must come to God on His terms, not ours.

NOTE - The Emerging Church as a movement is often closely linked with Spiritual Formation doctrines and other man-made (non-biblical) interpretations of scripture.
